About Us

Anthony Mark Barrow

Anthony Mark Barrow is originally from Birmingham, England, where he began his professional training at the Birmingham Theatre School at the Birmingham Old Rep. After graduating, he spent a year studying Method acting at East 15 Acting School before continuing his training on the prestigious BA Acting program at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Anthony made his West End debut in the London production of Lady Salsa while simultaneously appearing in the critically acclaimed BBC television series The Inspector Lynley Mysteries.

He began a long-standing creative collaboration with acclaimed theatre director Deborah Warner after being invited to join her production of Jeanette Winterson's The PowerBook at the Royal National Theatre. Through his work with Warner, Anthony toured internationally and became a familiar presence on the West End stage in productions including Julius Caesar, Mother Courage, and The School for Scandal. He has also worked with renowned theatre and film director Nicholas Hytner and was cast by Declan Donnellan's celebrated company, Cheek by Jowl, for both its London residency and European tour of Troilus and Cressida.

In 2010, Anthony relocated to Los Angeles, where he performed with A Company of Angels and A Noise Within. In 2013, he founded Critical Action Theatre Company, serving as its Artistic Director and creating a space dedicated to rigorous actor training and bold theatrical storytelling.

His stage work in the United States has included collaborations with Academy Award winner Tom Hanks, Joe Morton, and Hamish Linklater under the direction of Tony Award-winning director Daniel Sullivan. On screen, Anthony has worked with numerous acclaimed filmmakers, including Emmy and Grammy Award-winning director David Fincher. His film and television work can be seen on Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, and The CW.

Over the past two decades, Anthony has built an extensive career as both a teacher and director. He has taught at Birmingham Theatre School in the UK, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in Los Angeles, and Identity School of Acting in Los Angeles, while also coaching actors privately whose work can be seen across television and film.

Drawing on his experience across theatre, film, and television, Anthony believes that exceptional acting is rooted in truth, imagination, and fearless commitment to process. His broad artistic background and collaborations with some of the industry's most respected directors and actors uniquely position him to guide performers toward becoming the most authentic, dynamic versions of themselves. He is passionate about creating a rigorous, imaginative, and supportive environment in which actors feel empowered to take creative risks, deepen their craft, and realize their fullest potential as storytellers.
